Aspen Arbor Animal Hospital utilizes advanced anesthesia protocols that take your pet’s age and current health into consideration. A complete physical examination and pre-anesthetic blood analysis are performed before each surgical procedure. The results from our onsite diagnostic laboratory help identify any unfavorable conditions that may be undetectable by a physical exam. Although there are always risks associated with anesthesia, this thorough evaluation of your pet’s health will help reduce any risks and help ensure a successful operation. During surgery, your pet will be continually monitored with the same techniques used in human medicine. IV fluids are given during surgery to support blood pressure and help the body cope with the stress of anesthesia and surgery.
